CHARLOTTE, N.C. (October 13, 2023) – Super League Carolina, the western Carolinas first women’s professional soccer team, announced today the top two fan-driven team name options for the club: Carolina Ascent and Carolina Breeze.
- Carolina Ascent: Always climbing and relentlessly striving to advance in all facets of the club. A club that elevates the community. A club that empowers its coaches, players, staff and fans to reach new heights. The Carolina Ascent Soccer Club is Always Climbing!
- Carolina Breeze: Catapulting from the peaks of our mountains, swirling through the trails of our forests and rippling into the waves of our waterways. It’s a rush, a spark, a breath of fresh air. Soccer circulates creating an impact you can see and feel. Feel the breeze!
These names were selected following the club’s multiple listening sessions and online surveys which provided valuable insight and feedback from women’s soccer fans throughout North Carolina and South Carolina.
“From the very beginning, we committed to engaging the fans and inviting them to help us build their club. The enthusiasm has been amazing, and we’re excited to present the fan-driven finalists for this vote,” stated VP of Marketing and Communications, Ashley Osiecki.

After voting closes, the club will spend several months designing the final brand trademarks which will include attributes guided by the fan feedback received earlier this summer. The club’s logo, colors, vision and some merchandise will be unveiled at a community event later this year.
