Fort Lauderdale United FC signed Cameron Brooks, a Titan and Texan homegrown, to its roster for the inaugural USL Super League season coming this August 2024.
Coming from a family filled with collegiate athletes, Brooks paved her path at the University of Texas for five years as an integral part of its offensive success.
As only a sophomore, Brooks appeared in 15 matches with seven starts, totaling 814 minutes, two goals and two assists. In her junior year, she scored the match-winning goal to beat Baylor for the second-straight season, tying her for third on her team with three goals.
Brooks kept blazing her trail through her senior and fifth year. In 2021, she played a total of 1,478 minutes over 20 matches with 15 starts. She is also able to pull through in high-pressure moments as she scored the decisive penalty kick in a shootout versus West Virginia to move on to the Big 12 Championship Final. Brooks was awarded the Big 12 Conference Defensive Player of the Week in 2022, and she kept her four-year streak of being an Academic All-Big 12.
Brooks will continue to make breakthroughs as a player with her first professional season at Fort Lauderdale United FC.
