Fort Lauderdale United FC is thrilled to welcome NSU alumni and Brazilian forward Luana Grabias to its lineup as it gears up for its inaugural season in the USL Super League this August.
Originating from São José dos Pinhais, Paraná, Brazil, Grabias first showcased her talent in the collegiate leagues, beginning at Monroe College. There, she sharpened her offensive prowess with the Mustangs, accumulating impressive stats that paved the way for her future successes.
In 2022, as a junior, she transferred to Nova Southeastern University, located right where Fort Lauderdale United FC has built its home stadium on the Nova campus. This decision aligns with its mission to nurture homegrown talent. At NSU, she quickly made her mark as a formidable forward, logging 1,066 minutes of playtime and starting every game. Known for her clutch performances, Grabias netted five game-winning goals, earning her the titles of Sharks Player and Offensive Player of the Year in 2022.
Continuing her ascendance in 2023, she led her team with 13 goals, 5 assists and 31 points, including another 5 game-winning goals. Her consistent performance not only topped the league in game-winning goals but also ranked her second in total goals scored.
A standout of the Brazilian National Team, Grabias brings a wealth of experience and an international flair to Fort Lauderdale United FC. Her ambition and prowess will not only inspire athletes from around the world but also boost the team as it strives to make a significant impact in professional women’s soccer.
