In a busy week for the Super League, five clubs announced 16 players for the historical 2024-25 season. Here’s a closer look at the latest Super Signings:
Midfielder Mollie Rouse is joining Spokane Zephyr FC after spending a season with English club Sunderland AFC Women. Prior to her stint with Sunderland, she played for multiple European clubs and has 24 caps with England’s youth national teams across multiple age groups. Rouse is returning to the U.S. since finishing her collegiate career at the University of Central Florida in 2019.
Spokane announced back-to-back goalkeeper additions this week with Hailey Coll and Izzy Nino. Hailing from the Pacific Northwest, Coll was previously part of Seattle Reign FC and spent three years with the U.S. Soccer National Training Center program. Coll, an Oregon State alumna, etched herself into program history when she collected 200 saves during her collegiate career.
Nino joins Zephyr FC after a stint with Australia’s Newcastle Jets FC, where she collected three clean sheets and a 78.8 save percentage through 22 matches. In the final season of her six-year collegiate career, the University of Michigan alumna started all 16 matches played and recorded three clean sheets with a .74 save percentage.
Defender Sheyenne Allen is joining Fort Lauderdale United FC after a season with Portugal’s Club De Albergaria, where she recorded 1,178 minutes played and three goals across 14 games. Allen began her collegiate career at Brown University by helping the team to its first Ivy League title and NCAA Championship appearance in over 20 years. Allen concluded her time at Brown in 2022 as the Bears’ captain, recording a career-high eight points and a team-leading six assists as they won their third straight Ivy League title.
Cosette Morché is the second addition for Fort Lauderdale United this week. Morché played for several clubs across Europe and the United States, including Spain’s Valencia CF and NWSL’s Seattle Reign FC. Prior to her professional career, the goalkeeper spent two years at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, where she tallied 189 saves and six shutouts. Morché continued her collegiate career at Texas A&M, where she played over 4,000 minutes, recorded 20 shutouts, and tied for fourth in the nation in shutouts during her final year.
Anna Henderson was the final signing this week for Fort Lauderdale. Henderson spent three seasons at the University of Louisville before joining the University of Central Florida Knights. The forward made 29 appearances at UCF for 1,582 minutes of play. Henderson is joining Fort Lauderdale after spending the last year with Sweden side Mallbackens IF.
Carolina Ascent FC added North Carolina native Ashlynn Serepca to its roster. The forward is coming home after playing a season with Austria’s FC Pinzgau Saalfelden, where she scored 16 goals through 12 games. Serepca played three seasons for the University of Virginia before transferring to the University of Alabama, where she started all 49 games played. Serepca earned several caps and helped the Carolina Rapids reach the U.S. Club Soccer National Championships and the 2017 USYS National Championships.
Cannon Clough is another North Carolina native who has been signed to her hometown team. The defender joins Carolina Ascent after playing for multiple clubs in Australia for nearly five years, notably winning the Queensland NPL Championship with Lions FC. The University of North Carolina alumna helped guide the Tar Heels to the 2017 ACC regular season title and an appearance at the 2016 NCAA College Cup.
Carolina Ascent’s third signee of the week is another North Carolinian, B Hylton. At only 17 years old, Hylton has earned multiple titles including inaugural National Player of the Year for DPL and 2023 DPL U-19 National Champion. Now, Hylton is making history as the first player to sign with the Ascent on a USL Academy contract. In her high school career, she has clocked 42 goals and 23 assists through three seasons. Meanwhile, she has registered 39 goals and 31 assists through three seasons at the Charlotte Development Academy.
Wasila Diwura Soale was the first Tampa Bay Sun FC player announced this week. The Accra, Ghana native began her professional career with Ghana Women’s Premier League club Hasaac Ladies. In the United States, the midfielder attended Louisiana State University where she achieved All-Region and All-SEC Second Team honors and was a standout for Wake FC of the USL W League in its inaugural season.
Tampa Bay Sun also announced the addition of defender Amanda Kowalski. In 2022, Kowalski made her professional debut with the Chicago Red Stars of the NWSL, where she scored three goals and was named the club Rookie of the Year. Through five seasons at Butler University, the defender made 91 appearances and recorded 16 assists along with six goals.
Tampa Bay also welcomed Brooke Denesik to the backline this week. Denesik will return to the United States after playing professionally in Denmark for Aalborg BK. Previously, she appeared for Frauen-Bundesliga side MSV Duisburg and for BIIK Kazygurt where she recorded 12 appearances in the UEFA Women’s Champions League.
Carlee Giammona is another addition to Tampa Bay’s midfield. Giammona began her professional career with Liga MX Feminil club CF Monterrey before joining Glasgow City of the Scottish Women’s Premier League. The midfielder was named to the 2019 SEC All-Freshman team after a stellar year at Alabama. She spent the last three years of her college career at Pepperdine, where she started 44 games and recorded 16 goals and 11 assists.
Tampa Bay announced Ashley Orkus as the fifth signing of the week and first goalkeeper of the club, joining from Icelandic club Deild Women. Orkus started her collegiate soccer career for the University of Tennessee, before transferring to Ole Miss where she was named SEC Goalkeeper of the Year three straight seasons from 2020-2022.
Dallas Trinity FC also welcomed home its first goalkeeper with the signing of local Texan Sam Estrada. The former Southern Methodist University team captain competed 50 matches for the Mustangs, concluding her SMU career sixth all-time in save percentage (.785) and seventh in goals-against average (1.17).
Maya Gordon is the third signee to the Trinity’s competitive defense. A Louisiana State University graduate, Gordon appeared in 86 matches for LSU for 6,359 minutes on the field. She was named to the 2020 All-SEC Second Team and captained the collegiate team in her last season as a Tiger.
