TAMPA, Fla. (August 8, 2024) – The USL Super League today announced Sequel as the league’s Official Tampon Provider. Through the league’s Preferred Supplier Program, Sequel will focus on providing high-quality and innovative feminine care products to Super League athletes across the league.
Sequel was founded by two Stanford-educated engineers and former high-performance athletes, Amanda Calabrese and Greta Meyer. The pair were looking for a more reliable tampon, and when they couldn’t find it, they made it.
As the company’s first novel product, the Sequel Spiral Tampon features a proprietary spiral design that is engineered to be more fluid mechanically efficient, meaning it is designed to absorb more evenly and not leak before it’s full. Sequel’s mission is to raise the standard of women’s products with better design and superior technology.
“The Super League is committed to prioritizing the well-being of our players by providing them with advanced and innovative personal health products,” said Amanda Vandervort, USL Super League President. “Both the Super League and Sequel share the same mission of ensuring every athlete has the resources they need to stay at their best, both on and off the field.”
“Sequel was founded on the belief that performance-driven women deserve a more reliable tampon,” said Amanda Calabrese, CMO and cofounder of Sequel. “We are thrilled to be partnering with the USL to empower their incredible athletes to achieve distraction-free performances on the soccer field.”
Through its Preferred Supplier Program, the USL connects suppliers with new franchise owners and existing USL clubs to help them meet their business objectives. Preferred suppliers are “Best-in-Class” companies that provide services and products to professional franchises and stadium developers and must meet the USL’s strict quality standards.
