- Saturday’s match is the second of the season for both teams. Tampa Bay Sun earned a point last week after drawing 1-1 with Dallas Trinity FC. Power FC fell 1-0 to Carolina Ascent in Week 1’s inaugural match.
- Tampa Bay’s Brooke Hendrix and DC Power’s Charlie Estcourt both played for Reading FC in the Women’s Championship in England during the 2023/24 season.
Players to Watch
TB – Ashley Orkus: The former Ole Miss goalkeeper was incredible in between the posts for Tampa Bay in Week 1 and made six saves on the night to keep her team in the match. Tampa will need another strong performance from her this week to combat the offensive threats on DC’s front line.
DC – Jorian Baucom: DC Power will be extremely dangerous once it finds that connection in the final third, especially with players like Jorian Baucom up top. The striker is coming off a season with Scottish side Hibernian where she scored 29 goals. It’s just a matter of time before she gets on the score sheet with Power FC.

- Lexington SC will officially kick off its season when the club visits current standings leaders Carolina Ascent FC.
- Carolina Ascent recorded the first goal, win and clean sheet in USL Super League history when it earned a 1-0 victory at home last week against DC Power FC.
- 17 USL W League alums will be available for selection for Sunday’s match. Carolina carries ten former W League players and Lexington has seven, many of which come from the clubs’ own W League team.
Players to Watch
CAR – Audrey Harding: Aside from assisting the league’s first goal, Audrey Harding was also all over the field for Carolina last week. She led the team in chances created and duels won along with recording shot on target and two interceptions.
LEX – Cori Sullivan: Cori Sullivan is one of Lexington’s most experienced players, having suited up for top professional clubs in Scotland and Mexico. She helped Glasgow City to a third-place finish and was the 2023 SWPL Sky Cup top scorer with 11 goals. The forward spent her college career at two Pac-12 schools with the Arizona State Sun Devils and Washington Huskies.
