Fort Lauderdale forward Addie McCain netted three goals against Lexington on Sunday, making her the league’s leading scorer with five goals. McCain sent in two shots from inside the box in the 22nd and 57th minute before converting a penalty in second-half stoppage time to complete the hat trick.

Spokane Zephyr recorded its first win and clean sheet of the season at home on Sunday against DC Power. A diving header from Haley Thomas in the 17th minute gave Zephyr the 1-0 lead, and the team and goalkeeper Izzy Nino held on to the result to earn the shutout.

Despite not getting the result it wanted, Lexington continued its streak on Sunday of scoring in every match so far this season. Defender Sydney Shepherd sent in a volley off a free kick from Madison Perez, the same two who connected on a corner for Lexington’s first-ever goal in Week 2. Perez currently leads the league with three assists.
