Aquino previously joined the Matildas’ U-17, U-20 and U-23 squads
DC Power FC goalkeeper Morgan Aquino has been selected to join the 36-player CommBank Matildas’ squad for the final FIFA International Window of 2024. Aquino will return to her home nation to face Brazil and Chinese Taipei in four international friendlies between November 28 and December 7.
Aquino is one of five players on the roster to earn her first senior national team call-up. She was previously called up to the Matildas’ U-17 and U-20 squads and joined the U-23 team earlier this year for the Four Nations Tournament in Sweden.
“We are pleased that we are able to reward players for their club form,” said interim Australia Head Coach Tom Sermanni. “The coaching staff and I are eager to see which players will take this chance to showcase their qualities and step up to demonstrate they are of international caliber.”
Aquino has started in 11 matches for Power FC this season, totaling 945 minutes of action. She has recorded 29 saves at a save percentage of 67.4 percent, three clean sheets, and has posted a 1.33 goals-against average.
