
Fort Lauderdale, FL – Fort Lauderdale United FC announced on Thursday the signing of defender Laurel Ansbrow for the remainder of the 2024/25 USL Super League season. The transaction is pending league and federation approval.
Ansbrow is joining the club after playing four seasons with the Wake Forest Demon Deacons, starting 61 of her 66 total appearances for 5484 minutes played. Ansbrow recently concluded a memorable 2024 season with the Deacs after making their first NCAA National Championship appearance and second College Cup trip in program history. The defender helped Wake Forest post the best goals-against average in the conference, conceding only seven goals during ACC play and 11 during the entire regular season, the fewest in program history.
The Cary, North Carolina native is returning to the USL after playing in the USL W League with the North Carolina Courage U23 team in 2022 and 2023. Ansbrow helped the Courage to the W League Final in 2023 and was named to the USL W League Team of the Year – First Team.
